Where sand becomes time
An immersive CGI experience by Mossawi Studios, where each grain of sand forms fleeting patterns and structures, echoing the ever-changing desert and the transient beauty of nature. A portrayal of the endless cycle of change and our short journey through time. Sands of Time has been shown at multiple venues, most recently at the Rollie flagship store in Melbourne.
Look Development
Explorations into color and light, testing how tones bleed and mix as the sand moves, and how lighting shapes the mood of each landscape. These studies set the palette and atmosphere the final piece would live in.
Design Development
Behind the piece sits a series of simulations, testing how millions of particles behave, settle, and shift. These studies explored color, density, and motion until the sand moved the way the desert does.
